Ontario's 2023 Games Season!

It may feel like a cold February day in most of Ontario but it won’t be long before the grass is green, the air is warm and the quiet, once again, filled with the grand sounds of the pipes and drums!

Our 2023 summer season is nearing ready to go. The list that follows represents the games that are sanctioned by The Pipers’ & Pipe Band Society of Ontario (and, you’ll see, also noted in our online calendar).

Along with the games schedule here are a few notes connected to information that bears a reminder - and knowing:

Entering to participate: The master entry forms for bands and soloists will be available on this website by March 30, 2023. With the exception of Maxville, all entries must be received three weeks in advance of games day. See entry forms for exact info.

Trophy presentation: all trophies must be picked up by winning competitors. Highland dress is not required to be worn at presentation and the winner can assign a designate the honour of receiving a trophy.

Kingsville Games: location has changed to the world famous Jack Miner Bird Sanctuary. Note the bonus $1500 prize purse for those who enter and compete. Every piper, drummer, Drum Major and pipe band has a chance to win one of three $500 cash prizes in a random draw of those participating.

Accommodation: Glengarry Highland Games (Maxville): We have been informed that the DEV Centre (Cornwall) is unable to provide the the games with the usual accommodation for the 2023 Games as they have been contracted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to support the arrival of refugees. The Ramada Inn (Cornwall) will also be providing similar services during the time of the games. The PPBSO will provide more information to members as we learn of potential accommodation alternatives.

August 4-5: Glengarry Highland Games (Maxville)

August 26: North Lanark Highland Games (Almonte)

As always if you have any questions about details not provided on the website (or in our soon-to-be released updated entry forms) please drop a line to the PPBSO’s Administrator.

In the meantime, enjoy your music!
