Dear PPBSO Members,
As part of our ongoing commitment to developing, preserving, and promoting the art of piping and drumming, we’re thrilled to announce an initiative aimed at supporting and engaging the next generation of musicians.
Beginning in 2025, the PPBSO will be reducing our annual membership fee by 50% for all members under the age of 16 (as of January 1st.) This decision reflects our dedication to making membership more accessible to young people, helping to inspire and support their journey in our community while also reducing the financial burden for families with multiple members.
This initiative is one of many steps we’re taking to cultivate a vibrant future for the PPBSO by encouraging young talent to join, learn, and grow within our organisation. We believe that by investing in youth, we are ensuring that the legacy and joy of piping and drumming will continue to thrive for generations to come.
The PPBSO Board has additionally decided to amalgamate our Windsor/Detroit Branch with the Western Branch. This decision reflects our goal to keep every regional hub of the PPBSO vibrant and full of opportunity.
By bringing these branches together, we are ensuring that members from Windsor/Detroit will have access to a strong, flourishing community where they can connect with peers, benefit from additional resources, and participate in an active community that enriches the experience for all.
This amalgamation is an intentional step towards optimising our structure for the long term. Together, we’re creating a stronger, more connected, and more resourceful PPBSO. This is a positive step that ensures each member can enjoy the most robust support possible in their journey with the pipes and drums.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to enrich and grow our community.
Regards,
Andrew Giles
