Biography
Brian McCue brings a broad spectrum of percussion experience to the pipe band world. His musical training includes a Master’s Degree in Music from McGill University and an Artists Diploma from the Banff Centre for the Arts.
As a pipe band drummer, he performed with the Toronto Police Gr 1 Pipe Band under Lead Drummer Drew Duthart in the early 1990’s before taking over the reins as lead drummer of their Grade 2 band. After a brief hiatus to begin judging duties with the PPBSO, he returned to the Toronto Police to lead their Grade 3 drum corps until 2011.
Since 1999, Brian has been the Pipe Band Drumming Instructor at St. Andrew’s College. Brian McCue also has extensive knowledge of the military and Cadet pipe band training systems as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 33 years.
