Biography
Kyle started playing the tenor drum with the Canadian Armed Forces and joined his first competition band in 2006. In 2007 he joined the 78th Fraser Highlanders and in his first season won the Best Drum Corps and Best Bass Section titles at the Worlds in grade 1. After playing with the Peel Regional Police Pipe Band, he joined the Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band in 2013, where he would win 14 major championships, including 3 World Pipe Band Championships and a Grand Slam as well as five major drumming titles, including another Best Drum Corps title. Since then, Kyle has played for the St. Thomas Alumni Pipe Band, winning the grade 2 World Championships in 2019.
Kyle is also a successful soloist, having won the North American Championship at Maville, the United States Championship, PPBSO Champion Supreme, and the MHAF Gold Medal for Professional Tenor Drumming in Kansas City. He is also a certified bass and tenor drumming judge with the PPBSO and sits on the PPBSO Music Committee.
