Overview:

Band affiliation:

Kingston Police Pipe Band, 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band

I began piping at the age of 9 with the Braemar Pipe Band and then joined Niagara Regional Police Pipe Band under the direction of Peter MacKenzie.

In 2013 I began taking lessons with Michael Grey and subsequently joined the Toronto Police Pipe Band, grade 1, where I was a member until 2018. This year I joined the 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band, grade 1.

In 2015 I moved to Kingston to do my teaching degree at Queen's University and subsequently started the Kingston Police Pipe Band. I am now a full time math teacher with the Limestone District School Board, the contracted piping instructor at the Royal Military College, and part owner of Mckay-Barnes Custom Bagpipes.

Kingston Police Pipe Band has a grade 5 and 4 band, as well as a teaching program that runs from September to the end of April - FREE of charge.
